Free Families is a five (5) week series of group sessions designed to help returning citizens (ex-offenders), their adult family member(s) and children navigate the challenges of transition. This three track approach (returning citizen, family or support person and children) to life change utilizes biblical principles, transparency of each story and a purposeful cohesive plan for transition as a family unit.
The pressures of post incarcerated life can be overwhelming. Families learn to work together and destroy the invisible bars separating them from the freedom God has promised.
Sheila Murphy, Diane Diago and Gerard Brown discuss the the challenges and opportunities for returning citizens in this country. Their dialogue explores the impact of childhood, environmental triggers, economic factors and post community support crucial to a healthy transition for returning citizens and their family network.

Mission to Mobilization (MTM) is a D.C. based organization led by Chief Mobilizer Sheila A. Murphy, an NBC4 Harris Hero. MTM’s innovative multi-level approach to criminal justice reform is designed to support its mission to change the way the nation views returning citizens.
With the MTM Experience individuals are exposed to discriminatory practices, childhood traumas, psychological and financial collateral consequences of post incarceration for returning citizens. Creating a nation that supports the successful return of ex-offenders into society is crucial to the economic growth, health, and safety of our communities.
